Shortcuts & right-click
Keyboard shortcuts and context-menu actions that save you clicks.
Chrome-wide shortcuts
- Alt + Shift + G (Mac: ⌥ Option + Shift + G) — merge the selected tabs into a new grid. Select at least two tabs first: click one tab, then Shift-click or ⌘/Ctrl-click the others. With only one tab selected, nothing happens.
- Alt + Shift + S (Mac: ⌥ Option + Shift + S) — open exactly two selected tabs in Chrome split view.
- Alt + Shift + F (Mac: ⌥ Option + Shift + F) — jump to the search box of the grid in the current window. Does nothing if the window has no grid open.
These are the default keys. If one doesn't work, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to see or change it — Chrome leaves a shortcut unassigned when another extension already uses the same keys. In a grid you can also click the shortcut hint next to the search box.
In a grid
- / or ⌘/Ctrl + K — focus search
- Enter — open in a new cell; ⌘/Ctrl + Enter — open in the selected cell
- Esc — leave a maximized cell
On the dashboard
- ⌘/Ctrl + K — search your sites, grids and splits, open tabs, to-dos, notes, favorite radio stations and actions
- Number keys 1–8 open the toolbar tools, and 0 opens grids and split views. Customize them in Settings → General → Keyboard shortcuts. They pause while you're typing.
Right-click menu
- On a page: Put this page in a grid
- On a link: Open link in a grid
Choose + New grid or any open grid.
